Rock art: Robbie Williams to open solo show in Amsterdam

Megastar Robbie Williams will be at the opening of his first solo art exhibition in Amsterdam next month, at the privately-owned Moco Museum in the city’s museum district.

Williams will personally open the β€œPride and Self-Prejudice” exhibition on March 7, which will run until July, the museum confirmed to Dutch News.

β€œI love to express myself through my art, and over many years it’s helped me with
some of the challenges I’ve faced,” Williams said in a press statement. β€œIt’s well documented that at times I’ve experienced poor mental health, and during these times art and humour have been really useful tools for me.”

Williams, recently the subject of a successful Netflix series about his life, began creating art as a way to cope with his inner demons while in rehab in the 1990s.

Moco’s website gives little away about what the visitor can expect. β€œOne room is bursting with colour; another is scaled back to black and white,” it says.

Some of the works of art will β€œcome to life” digitally. β€œQuotes will make you stop, think, laugh, and question the pressure to present inner worlds in a consistent, understandable way to the outside world.”

Tickets go on sale on Thursday.
